Saint Alexandra, also known as Empress Alexandra, was the wife of the Roman Emperor Diocletian. Although she lived in a pagan environment, she secretly converted to Christianity and supported persecuted Christians who suffered under her husband’s rule. Her courage to stand by her faith, despite her royal position, eventually led to her martyrdom.

Alexandra is venerated as the patron saint of converts and the persecuted. Her life serves as a model of faithfulness and devotion, even under the most challenging circumstances. She demonstrated that true power and courage lie in faith and in serving the vulnerable.

Her feast day, on April 23 (Julian calendar) or May 6 (Gregorian calendar), is a day when Orthodox Christians remember her self-sacrifice and bravery. She is often invoked for protection and strength in times of persecution.
