This icon of the Mother of God became known at the end of the 17th century. The sister of Patriarch Joachim of Moscow, who lives in Moscow, suffered from a serious illness for a long time. One day while praying she heard a voice: “Evfimija! In your suffering, why don’t you take refuge in the one who heals everyone? In the Church of the Transfiguration of my Son there is my picture called Joy of All the Afflicted. Ask a priest to bring this picture, and when he has celebrated a prayer service with a dedication of water, you will be healed.” Evfimija heeded the request of the All Holy Mother of God and became healthy.

Above four Saints and in the middle God Father.

Silver oklad, hallmarked Moscow 1890. Assayer: Lev Fridrikhovitch Oleks.
